Yes, cork's unique texture becomes even more slip-resistant when exposed to moisture, making it an ideal choice for practitioners who engage in sweat-inducing workouts.

3. How should I clean and maintain my cork yoga mat?

Clean your cork yoga mat by wiping it with a damp cloth or a mixture of mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the natural properties of the cork. After cleaning, allow the mat to air-dry completely.

Rolling a cork yoga mat with the cork side facing outward is recommended to maintain the integrity and longevity of the mat. If your cork yoga mat has any printed designs, logos, or patterns, rolling it with the cork side out helps maintain the aesthetic appearance by preventing imprints or creases on the design side.

Rolling the cork side out allows for better air circulation. This is especially important if the mat is slightly damp after cleaning. Proper air circulation helps prevent any moisture-related issues and ensures the mat remains fresh for each use.

4. What is the recommended way to break in a new cork mat?

 Breaking in a cork yoga mat is simple—use it regularly. Over time, the cork's natural texture adapts to your practice, becoming more comfortable while retaining its non-slip properties.

5. Do cork yoga mats have a natural scent?

When you first acquire a cork yoga mat, you may notice a faint earthy or woody aroma. However, this scent tends to dissipate over time as the mat is used and exposed to air. Many people find the natural scent of cork pleasant, and it is not considered overpowering or disruptive during yoga practice. If you're sensitive to scents, allowing the mat to air out in a well-ventilated area can help reduce any initial odor.

6. What makes cork a sustainable material for yoga mats?

Cork is sustainable because it's harvested from cork oak trees without cutting them down. The bark is carefully stripped, allowing the tree to regenerate. This process promotes environmental conservation and longevity of the cork oak forests.

7. What is the durability of cork yoga mats compared to others?

Cork mats stand out for being eco-friendly and sustainable. Unlike traditional rubber or PVC mats, they don't contain harmful chemicals, making them a healthier choice for both you and the environment. The natural texture of cork provides excellent traction.

8. Can I use my cork yoga mat outside?

Absolutely, cork yoga mats are well-suited for outdoor practices. The natural composition of cork makes it resilient to various environmental conditions while providing a comfortable and stable surface.

CANDLES

1. What is the best way to burn your Sugi Tree Studio candle?

To start enjoying your candle simply trim the wick 1/4" before lighting, making sure not to let the wick trimmings or other debris drop into the wax. Some candles will require a longer match or lighter. For best performance from your candle, burn until wax melts to the edge of the jar to prevent "tunneling", not exceeding 4 hours. Discontinue use when 1/4" wax is left. Never leave the candle unattended, in reach of children, or in the vicinity of something flammable. Allow jar to cool to a reasonable temperature before handling.

2. How strong are Sugi Tree Studio candles?

We use a generous amount of fragrance in our formulas for maximum scent throw. We like our scents to be noticeable but not overpowering or headache inducing! A Sugi Tree Studio candle (8oz) will fill a medium sized room wonderfully!

3. Do your fragrances contain phthalates? What are phthalates?

All our fragrances are phthalate free. Phthalates (pronounced THA-lates) are a group of chemicals that can make products softer and more flexible. Recently there has been concern linking high levels of phthalates to health issues, especially in children. While there are no regulations against phthalate use in candles, and the levels of phthalates typically found in a candle are not harmful to a consumer, we have still decided not to use phthalates in our products.

4. What is the difference between cotton wick and wooden wick candles?

Wood Wick: Made of wood such as cedar, cherry, or birch, it produces a crackling sound for ambiance, burns at a higher temperature creating a quicker melt pool, can enhance fragrance dispersion, and has a unique and visually appealing profile.

Cotton Wick: Made of braided cotton fibers, it burns with a softer flame, has no crackling sound, burns at a lower temperature resulting in a slower, cooler burn, provides a traditional and subtler scent, and has a classic and simple appearance.

We ship all of our orders through Canada Post. Shipping with Canada Post usually takes between 2-7 business days depending on where you are having the product delivered in Canada, and  4-5 business days depending on where you are in the United States.
